The high school football season will be here before you know it and the state of Kentucky has several prospects that have a chance to make a lot of noise at the college level. Here is a look at the top 10 prospects in the Bluegrass state.

1. DaMarcus Smith, 6-1, 180, QB, Seneca

It will be interesting to see how Smith bounces back, after sitting out all of last season with a torn ACL. Smith, who has scholarship offers from Kentucky, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Purdue and Tennessee, committed to play for the University of Louisville shortly after the Cardinals hired Charlie Strong.

2. Lamar Dawson,  6-2, 230, LB, Boyle County

Dawson currently holds nine scholarship offers. Kentucky, Cincinnati, Illinois, Louisville, Northwestern, Purdue, Stanford, Texas Tech and Western Kentucky have offered, while Notre Dame and Colorado have expressed interest.

3. Darrian Miller, 6--6, 275, OL, Byran Station

Miller is one of the top offensive linemen in the nation. Despite holding scholarship offers from Alabama, Louisville, Purdue and Tennessee, Miller decided to stay close to home and play for Joker Phillips at the University of Kentucky.

4. Zach West, 6-5, 305, OL, Lexington Christian Academy

West holds scholarship offers from Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisville and Penn State.

5. Jon Davis, 6-3, 235, ATH., Louisville Eastern

Davis can play several different positions on the field but many expect him to play tight end at the college level. Davis committed to play at the University of Kentucky back in December, despite holding scholarship offers from Illinois, Louisville, Purdue and Stanford.

6. DeVante Parker, 6-2, 180, WR, Louisville Ballard

Parker came out of nowhere last season and emerged as one of the top wide receivers in the nation. He will play college football at the University of Louisville.

7. Jerrell Moore, 5-11, 175, RB, Fern Creek

Moore had 1,913 all purpose yards during his junior season. Despite holding scholarship offers from Kentucky, Eastern Michigan and Western Kentucky, Moore decided to stay home and play for the University of Louisville.

8. Jamon Brown, 6-5, 305, DL, Fern Creek

Brown will play college football at the University of Louisville.

9. Jalen Harrington, 6-3, 215, S, Fern Creek

Like his two teammates, Harrington will also play at the University of Louisville.

10. Mitchell Henry, 6-4, 235, TE, Elizabethtown

Henry holds scholarship offers from Bowling Green, Memphis and Western Kentucky.
