Veterinarian found dead in driveway
- Robert Stonebreaker a Del Mar veterinarian was found dead on his neighbors driveway in January 2010.  At first it was thought he died as a result of a solo car crash on Rancho Santa Fe road, but the case turned into a homicide when an autopsy determined that the injuries were not consistent with a traffic accident.  There was theories that it was a vendetta or road rage and maybe even a suicide attempt.  This case remains unsolved.

The McStay family
- Last seen on February 4th, the mystery around the disappearance of McStay's still remains.  They left behind their home, belongings and dogs in the back yard and they have not been seen since.  Theories are they went to Mexico when a grainy surveillance video at the border show two adults and two children crossing, and their home computer revealed searches for passport requirements. If you missed the event, interested people can see highlights in two publications the story of the fabulous Owl Box of San Marcos Story!

A book that people may not hear about is the fabulous photography of Carlos Royal of the Molly and McGee family of owls in San Marcos, CA! I highly recommend this book as well as the true story for all ages of this owl family, published in late 2010 and carefully written by Eric Blehm and magnificently illustrated by Chris "Rocketman" Adams. Search for "Molly the Owl Books" on the internet to find both!

I love Molly and her family and will miss them so much this year if Carlos decides not to show them again. Such sweet innocense and caring is the live of a Barn Owl's family. So touching.
