The World Cup is halfway over, so here are some of the Miami Dining Examiner's recommendations for places to catch some soccer fever. This list is based on personal experience, friend's recommendations and food blogger's picks.

1) Fritz and Franz

This German Bierhaus seems to be the fan favorite by a landslide. Fritz and Franz has nine TVs, plus a giant LED screen outside to watch the games. A perfect place to catch Germany playing the USA tomorrow afternoon, they have $5 German beer and food specials from the participating countries.

60 Merrick Way, Coral Gables

2) Fado's Irish Pub

Fado's is the irish pub in Miami to catch a little futbol action. Along with the traditional pub menu, with favorites like fish and chips, they also have a special World Cup menu.

3) The Clevlander

Miami Beach's premier sport's watching destination, this Art Deco gems steps it up for the World Cup with huge screens and dancing girls. Dress up for this place for the games, at this place to see and be seen.

4) Novecento

This Argentine steakhouse comes highly recommended by those in the know for its rowdy embrace of the beautiful game of soccer. Empanadas and the steak with chimichurri is recommended by diners online.

5) Batch Gastropub

Batch has 17 TVs broadcasting World Cup action and $20 buckets of Coors Light or Heineken. The gnocchi mac and cheese, duck nachos and burgers are recommended for munchies.

30 S.W. 12th Street, Miami

Seems like a natural place to watch the soccer matches, since it's taking place in Brazil. This Brazilian/Asian restaurant offers Brazilian themed food and drinks during the games. Diners also have a chance to win a trip to Rio for two for Carnival.

7) Sports Grill

Watch the games inside or outside in South Miami at this hangout of UM students and locals. Banners line the inside with World Cup flags. Try the wings and fish dip with a local craft beer. Funky Buddha, anyone?

8) 100 Montaditos

Diners on a budget looking for a wide array of sandwiches have found their home in this Spanish, casual and often noisy restaurant. Popular with college kids, Bud Light pitchers are $6.99, Estralla pitchers $12.99. Carbophobics need not apply.

9) John Martins

Get your Irish on at this pub in the heart of Coral Gables. Irish grub is available, as well as select draft specials, $15 buckets of domestic beer, $20 for imported and $20 for mix and match.
