As the year ends it is time to reflect on the top 10 Glenn Beck Moments of 2009. Beck has certainly provided a fair share of entertainment this year as he has become the most prominent Obama administration opponent.
Story #10 dealt with Glenn Beck's Cash for Clunkers conspiracy.
Story #9 featured Jon Stewart's classic impersonation of Beck following Beck's appendicitis.
So with no further delay allow me to introduce number eight which fits perfectly with the Christmas season.
It is more than a bit unfair to compare Glenn Beck's movie "The Christmas Sweater" to "Avatar" as one featured just Beck with a relatively small budget while the other had a significant production costs and real actors. Still many thought Glenn Beck's movie would be a box office success given his significant following and the hype he gave the movie on his television and radio show.
Instead as was noted earlier this month Beck failed to produce many ticket sales. In the major media markets like New York and Boston Beck was only able to sell 17 tickets on the opening night. Even in more conservatives areas like Texas theaters were generally half-empty. Some were put off by the fact that Beck was charging $20 a ticket to see the show while one could see something with the production quality of Avatar for $10.
In addition to poor ticket sales the show also received some brutal reviews. Some of Beck's followers chimed in with some positive comments but the reviews by more formal critics were not so kind. Beck's crying spells ended up being a major part of every show as one critic put it:
Beck's performance involves lots of throwing himself on the floor, rolling around, doing stereotyped voices for every character, and crying, to the point that at some point it becomes a parody of crying."
The same critic also criticized Beck for essentially changing his own story in order to try and make things more dramatic. Curiously, after the opening weekend Beck never really mentioned "The Christmas Sweater" anymore on his television show. It seems as though the whole production may have "unraveled" a bit for him.

Comments
I heard that Glenn Beck's next book will be titled "I am Not Eric Cartman!"
Damn right.
I don't have any smart comments here. I missed it. I don't go to the theatre much cuz there's not much to see. Ya ain't missing much. Action movie or chick flicks, most of the hollywood stuff sucks. I bought all the GB books, they're great, but I think I'll pass on the sweater thing. Usually I am waiting for RW's latest post, then I watch the GB show on FNC. Both are epic.
Klatoo: You earned some respect from me for that Klatoo. We have disagreed before but you do not simply disagree to disagree.

Seriously, do you think anyone takes a loser like you seriously? You are insignificant and irrelevant.
Hey numbnuts, Beck's one night showing in selected theaters was not meant to be a major cinematic release. How dumb can you be?
If only in your wildest dreams you could have the success of Mr. Beck? Why don't you work on getting out of mommies basement and finding a girlfriend. Baby steps for you pal.. Baby steps..
Ryan: You've made rational arguments I've made mine. You keep it on the level and I respect that.
I'm looking forward to number 7.
