Tool Academy is stuffed with sorry boyfriends (also known as "Tools") who have been led to believe that they will be taking part in a competition to become "Mr. Awesome" when in fact they are later told that they are in charm school for rejected boyfriends.
A contestant a week is eliminated and his girlfriend will choose to stay or leave the Tool. There is a relationship counselor to help the tools along the way and the last Tool left standing wins one hundred thousand dollars.
There are 10 Tools competing this time with two of them actually “Toolettes,” and one of them is part of a lesbian couple. Tools come in all shapes, sizes, colors, and sexual orientations! One of the Toolettes was also a part of the Bad Girl's Club and viewers of that show will remember Jennavecia (who ended up tooling out and leaving that show early because she quit a job (a requirement of the Bad Girls Club) and she was asked to leave.
Jordan Murphy returns as host (For Love or Money, Reality Remix, Tool Academy's 1 and 2) and Trina Dolenz acts as relationship counselor. She has the last say on which tools stay and which are expelled each week. Trina is trained as a couple’s counselor in Cambridge, England, obtaining a Graduate Certificate in Marital and Couples Counseling, and a Post Graduate Diploma in Couples Therapy from the University of East London. She has run private practices (couples therapy) in London and LA.
