Too Short charged with four misdemeanors after trying to run from cops

Too Short has been charged with four misdemeanors after being stopped by Los Angeles Police on suspicion of DUI and attempting to make a run for it, according to an April 7, 2013 Hip Hop Wired report.

The rapper was stopped on March 20 and attempted to flee from police, but was caught because he displayed “the foot speed of a well trained turtle,” Hip Hop Wired writes.

TMZ reports the charges include two counts of DUI, one count of possession of a controlled substance and one count of possession of Marijuana or for having an open container while operating a motor vehicle.

The tabloid notes police say they found methamphetamines in the back of the Bay Area rapper's vehicle, but the amount was so minimal Too Short avoided a felony drug charge.

The performer is slated to appear in court on April 15.
