Anti-American protests in more than 20 countries over a stupid video? That does not compute. Let's get this straight. "The Innocence of Muslims" depicts the Prophet Muhammad as a womanizer and a madman, triggering attacks on the U.S. Embassy in Cairo, Egypt, and on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya. More demonstrations spread out all over the Middle East, and even as far away as Sydney, Australia, where more than 200 protesters shouted, "Obama, Obama, we love Osama."
The coordinated attack in Libya resulted in the murders of the U.S. Ambassador to Libya, J. Christopher Stevens, and three other Americans. Two protesters were killed in Sudan. Two more in Tunisia. Yesterday, an Egyptian was killed before newly-elected Egyptian President Mohammed Morsi finally decided that the mob had had enough fun and ordered the police to clear the streets around the embassy.
Protesters set fire to a Hardees/KFC restaurant in Lebanon. It can be no coincidence that all of this came on, or soon after the 11th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks. There must be something happening here, much more than typical Muslim over-reaction to any perceived insult or the possible unavailability of sweet potato french fries at the Hardees/KFC that they could easily have picked up at the McDonalds two blocks away.
The Muslim Brotherhood changed the defense before the snap and called a blitz. Secretary of State Hillary Clinton was determined to stick to the blocking scheme that the administration set up before the defense audibled. She termed the film "an awful internet video that we had nothing to do with." Had she seen it? Strike that. Silly question. Hillary is the smartest woman in the world (Ask her. She'll tell you), much more intelligent than that witchy Michelle Bachman, or especially that horrid Sarah Palin (LSD editorial descriptions, not anywhere close to those of the writer who holds both Republican women in high esteem). Why see it? It's not as if the film insults Christians or Jews.
President Obama seemed more inconvenienced than outraged. He went through the motions, met the flag-draped coffins of the four butchered Americans. He gave a short speech and reverently held his hand over his heart as the National Anthem was played in their honor. When asked earlier if Egypt was still an American ally, he scrambled but eventually admitted that it is not, and he ended up sacked with a loss of three points in the polls.
After the National Anthem was over, he glanced at his watch, and it was right back onto the campaign trail. The hip-hop radio station DJ was waiting.
Maybe Mr. Obama can find the time to meet with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu next time he's in town. That is, if he survives the nuclear holocaust that Iran's Mahmoud Ahmadinejad and his Mad Mullah Band have planned for Israel. And, lest we forget, they aren't leaving the United States out either.
As much as the President and Mzzz. Clinton would like us to buy their less than astute analysis, the current unrest is not about this or any other film. It's about jihad. This is about the new Islamo-fascist Nazis annual celebration of the anniversary of 9-11, the grandest and most public party to date.
For the President and the rest of the liberal/socialist/Democrats (LSDs) however, 9-11 is ancient history, and best forgotten even if they do promise to never to forget. This is a new day and there is but one thing on the President's mind: to get re-elected. He does not seem at all disturbed by the timing of the attacks, not even by the clearly coordinated attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi.
More and more, though, it's beginning to look as if the administration should have seen that one coming. On June 6, an IED exploded outside the consulate. On June 11, the British Ambassador's motorcade was hit with a rocket-propelled grenade (RPG), resulting in two injured security guards. On June 18, gunmen attacked the Tunisian Consulate and burned its flag. On August 5, the International Red Cross Building was hit with an RPG.
Yet, the White House protests that it had "no actionable intelligence" which indicated that an attack on the American Consulate was in the works. Sure. And Bill Clinton had "no legal reason" to deport Osama bin Laden. What more did they need? Shouldn't they have at least increased security? Allowed the Marines to load their weapons with live ammunition?
Where is the LSD mainstream media in all of this? Well, since George Bush is no longer in charge and can't be blamed, they're jumping all over Mitt Romney for speaking out against and condemning the violence, for "jumping the gun before he had all the facts." But "the facts" have been right in front of us for may years.
It's disturbing that the Muslim demonstrations spread so far, and so quickly. Like someone flipped a switch. Perhaps the President and the LSDs think that the Muslim Brotherhood is their friend. They backed the Muslim Brotherhood in Libya and Egypt, perhaps overlooking the fact that some of their members had fought American troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. Maybe if they continue to sweeten the pot by backing the Muslim Brotherhood rebels in the civil war in Syria, they will be that much more beholden to them.
They won't though. President Morsi could have ordered the Egyptian police to clear the streets in front of the U.S Embassy at any time. He didn't take action until it was whispered that U.S. military aid to Egypt might be cut off. The new Islamo-fascist Nazis in Egypt, Libya, Gaza, Tunisia, etc., are buying time. Iran's nuclear weapon has not yet been built.
This episode is a distraction that has all the earmarks of a trial run.
