After Tony Stewart, 3 time Cup Champion, broke his right leg he knew that it would be a while before he could even think about being inside a car. So far all of his recovery efforts have been going great and he is looking forward to next season. He states that he has a long way to go before the leg is completely healed, but every day is getting better and better.
During his absence from racing, Mark Martin has been piloting the #14 Bass Pro Shops/Mobil 1 Chevy SS and Austin Dillon will be racing the car at Talladega later this year. He has not been lounging around, he has been keeping himself busy after the first month of “doing nothing but watching Oprah”. He has been making sponsor meetings and other appearances.
Tony says that he will be ready for the 2014 season and Daytona Speedweeks. He states that it will be tough to get there, but he will using the rest of the year and the all of January to get ready for the Daytona 500 in February. He also says that he will be cutting back on some of his sprint car racing, but it had nothing to do with the crash that broke his leg. #SmokewillRise.
