Tony was racing his car in the Empire Super Sprints series when this all went down. Sprint Racer Tyler Graves spoke out about what he saw last night. He said, "Tony pinched him into the frontstretch wall, a racing thing. The right rear tire went down, he spun on the exit of (Turn) 2. They threw the caution and everything was toned down. Kevin got out of his car. … He was throwing his arms up all over the place at Tony for most of the corner."

Kevin hopped out of his car and was yelling at Stewart walking on the track. Tony Stewart's car then clipped him and this is what killed the driver. He did stay under the car for a short time and then was thrown across the track. People at the races have been posting videos of the incident on YouTube.

Some people feel like Tony Stewart could see Kevin Ward on the track before he hit him, but others feel like it was a total accident. When you watch it all go down, Kevin was out on the track walking as Tony came around and ran right into him. This wreck is shocking to watch. Until authorities look into it there is no way to really know the specifics yet. More information will continue to come out.

USA Today shared more information on the accident. The race for the evening was canceled after this all went down. The driver was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead there. At this time, Tony Stewart is not being charged with any criminal acts in the death of Kevin Ward Jr. It is also being reported that he is cooperating with everyone at this time. Ontario County Sheriff's Department did confirm that deputies are on the scene of the accident and investigating.
