Tony Sparano hired to guide the O-line for the Oakland Raiders

The Oakland Raiders hired Tony Sparano as a new assistant head coach who will work with the offensive line.

FoxNews.com reported on Wednesday that Sparano was announced as hired by Oakland’s Coach Dennis Allen on Wednesday.

Sparano was the offensive coach of the New York Jets this past season. The Jets offense was ranked 30 out of 32 NFL teams, one of the worst ever. The Jets only averaged 17.5 points per game.

This is also Tony Sparano’s 30th year of coaching the sport, so experience is not an issue. He was the head coach of the Miami Dolphins for four years (1994-1998), which was probably the highlight of his career so far.

The Raiders fired four coaches right after the last game of the season. One of the main and important roles that needs to be filled is the offensive coordinator coaching spot; so far, nothing.

One coaching position filled for the Raiders with three more to go. All eyes and ears will be ready for the announcement of the offensive coordinator position!
