Tony P's Dockside Grill's wall of TVs is the choice for Westside sports

Venturing out of the Santa Monica area, most ocean cruisers are hard-pressed to find just the right place to watch a local, let alone a non-local, team in the sport they love. You can easily pass a bar with a television in the back tuned to a local channel showing the Lakers pummeling someone, but to find the right fit, it takes some searching. Those north of the South Bay, and fearful of the Santa Monica traffic, can find a wide variety along the Lincoln stretch, the Washington pier and even Marina Del Rey, right on the water.

We're going to take a look at your best bet for beer, fries, and good old American football. Dodge the Main Street stretch in Santa Monica and keep cruising south, and you'll be surprised at what you find. Tony P's Dockside Grill in Marina Del Rey has the widest wall of televisions showing every sport imaginable. Want to catch four games of football at once, and still have the nearby motocross race on the side? Then this is your place. A selection of beers that rivals the Yard House and food from the restaurant attached make it a must-stop.

The only catch is the Valet parking and the need to arrive early. This place is popular, and for a very good reason. The high-class style of the Marina is set aside as jerseys from purple to blue line the inside of the bar, with tables and a bar bench set in front of the wall. It's the ultimate "sports theater"; just remember not to be afraid to wave down a waitress. They can run up and down the bar, but may miss you if you don't throw a flag. The one downside to a perfect football experience. Your best bet though, is to save your trip for a weeknight as Saturdays and Sundays can be packed with football fans starting early. For hockey, baseball and even a bit of golf, you're good to go.

Relax with a Midas Touch (a rare-to-find Craft Beer of excellent quality), grab a spot at the bar table at the front (your best bet for the waitresses' full attention) and enjoy your game of choice. And if you call ahead, they'll be happy to put that game of choice on for you.
