Deniece Cornejo, Jed Fernandez and Ferdinand Guerrero, three of the five accused in the Vhong Navarro serious illegal detention case, are still at large this morning, May 4, 2014, despite an appeal made by DOJ Sec. Leila De Lima following the arrest of the rumored mastermind Cedric Lee and his friend Zimmer Raz. The two are still in the custody of the National Bureau of Investigation because of a motion filed by their lawyer Atty. Howard Calleja.
According to Sec. Leila De Lima, they should surrender themselves to the authorities or the NBI and let the court decide if they are guilty or not. Aside from the secretary, the former GMA-7 executive, Rod Cornejo, had also made an appeal to Deniece Cornejo to surrender herself for her safety, but like what the reports said, the TV and print ad model along with Jed Fernandez and Ferdinand Guerrero are still not showing their interest to surrender and leave their fortune to Judge Paz Esperanza Cortez of the Taguig Regional Trial Court Branch 271.
Just yesterday, Tony Calvento, avid supporter of Vhong Navarro, posted on his official Facebook page that another suspect in the serious illegal detention case will fall into the hands of the NBI, according to him, the suspect will be arrested in just a matter of 24 hours. The journalist did not give any detailed information regarding the identity of the suspect, but according to some observers who are following this case, Tony was talking about Deniece, but anyway, this was just an speculation of his Facebook followers who are also supporting his advocacy.
After 24 hours, Tony updated his Facebook page again, he said his reported arrest in one of the three accused who are still at large has turned out negative. The journalist confirmed that three teams are now working hard to get the subject despite the protection given by friends and supporters of the accused, lastly, Tony Calvento revealed that the authorities are almost certain that they would get the accused tomorrow if not today.
