The Tony Awards 2014 took the stage on June 8. The show that celebrates Broadway started airing on CBS at 8 p.m., ET., but before the main event, New York City fashionistas led a stunning red carpet fashion parade. According to Hollywood Life, Emmy Rossum and Idina Menzel were early arrivals, showing off their seminal sartorial skills on the runway in front of the legendary Radio City Music Hall.
Rossum, who was booked as a presenter at the show, showed up in a metallic gown with folded detailing down the front of her radiant frock from the Ralph Lauren Collection. Menzel was swathed in a blood red number that showed off her ample cleavage and Beth Behrs of "Two Broke Girls" fame had on a Carolina Herrera, two-tone dress with fish tail skirt.
Maggie Gyllenhaal was also on point on the Tony Awards 2014 red carpet. The actress had on a strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown that was white and that featured plenty of feathers. Patti LaBelle had on her Sunday best and wore her hair in a short bob while Fran Drescher, who appears on the Great White Way as Cinderella, was wearing a screaming orange frock that shimmered as she walked the sartorial runway for this awards show.
As for the man of the hour who was about to host the Tony Awards this year, Hugh Jackman had on a black suit and a bow tie to go along with his very dramatic beard as he walked the red carpet prior to the program (shades of Wolverine). That said and at his side, Deborra-Lee Furness wore a stunning black gown as is proper for this annual black tie event.
And so, as yet another awards show hits the Big Apple, Broadway theater is on the boards as are celebrities wearing high fashion to celebrate this event held in New York City on Sunday.
