Tickets go on sale shortly for the South Florida debut of "The Book of Mormon," the multiple Tony-award winning musical that opens in November at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
Single tickets will go on sale to the public beginning Monday, Sept. 9 for the long-awaited musical, which took home nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical. The show, which as created by South Park creators Trey Parker and Robert Stone, along with Roberto Lopez, co-creator of the long-running musical "Avenue Q."
The show, which tells the story of two idealistic missionaries who are sent to Uganda where a warlord is threatening to take over, also captured an array of top theater awards when it opened on Broadway in 2011. These included top musical awards from the New York Circle Drama Critics, the Outer Circle, and the Drama League. In addition, the soundtrack won a Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album.
The national touring production of "The Book of Mormon" will run Nov. 22- Dec. 26.
