If you have $5 in your sweaty hand a few hours to enjoy the metal, there's a show tonight at the White Swan featuring some of the more interesting bands in our regional area.
First is Vex, who have mutated through black metal to death metal to Pantera style groove metal to a new hybrid form of all of the above. Excellent musicianship and fiery personalities should give rise to a heck of a performance.
Accompanying them are Houston-based Ingurgitate, featuring former Infernal Dominion vocalist Mike Swearingen, former Insect Warfare skinsman Dobber Beverly, and two members of acclaimed local act Demoniacal Genuflection. Their brand of brutal gurgling visceral guttural death metal should raise the horns for even the bleakest metalhead.
Accompanying these bands are three special guests of local renown. The complete line-up is:
Managed by The Adversary, this show should be a festival of sonic necromancy with a high degree of diversity between the bands, meaning a good time will be had by all, especially with the $2.50 beers and comfortable environment of the White Swan.
You may find yourself at douchebag hipster bars on Washington, but don't despair. If you just keep driving East on Washington, it will become Franklin, and then you'll get a road split which leads on the right to Navigation. Go a mile or so further and you're there. No popped collars. No fake tans. Just metal, beer, and Satan.
