The Woodshedders come to the Tally Ho in Leesburg tonight to play the venues First Friday Bluegrass Night. The Woodshedders could easily make the case for calling it Bluegrass and beyond night with their eclectic mix of bluegrass, American, Gypsy Jazz, old country, folk and more.Of course being the host band at The Watermelon Park Festival and airplay on WAMU is enough to prove they belong on stage for a First Friday Bluegrass night.
An older venue like The Tally Ho is a nice fit for the award winning band. The intimate theater setting should make it a great place to hear The Woodshedders who played the venue back in July to celebrate the release of their latest album "Wildfire." The band is lead by the vocals and guitar virtuosity of Dwayne Brooke, Jared Poole adds his skilled guitar and mandolin playing into the mix. Drummer Jesse Schultzaberger and upright bass player Ryan Mayo hold the beat as the band's rhythm section.Mayo also flaunts his piano skills from time to time. Dave Van Deventer brings an authentic old time sound to the group with his fiddle. You can learn more about The Woodshedders at their website.
The Tally Ho Theatre is located in the heart of downtown Leesburg, Virginia at 19 West Market Street. Tickets are just $15 for this show and can be ordered from the Tally Ho website.
