Tonight Show fans react to possible Jay Leno retirement next season

Jay Leno's possible retirement made headlines in the UK. As the Examiner.com reported Saturday, the 2013-2014 TV season could be the last for Leno and that he may be retiring and turning over the "Tonight Show" to Jimmy Fallon. Details on that "Jay Leno retirement?" story here.

The story of a possible retirement for Leno is drawing mixed reaction from Tonight Show fans. Following Saturday's Examiner.com story, fans weighed in with their opinions.

Tonight Show fan, Lin Dillard wrote, "yaaaay, about time Leno and Letterman retire. Fallon just sux. I sure do miss Johnny Carson. No one has taken is place yet."

But Jay Leno fan Ed Plitt countered that he hopes Jay Leno is not retiring, "Leno is far and away the best in his time slot. I used to like Letterman back when he did quirky stuff like "Will it Float?", throwing stuff off the roof, all the bits with Rupert ("What's on the iPod?"), but since he's gone to an all conservative bashing, all the time bit, I can't stand him anymore. I guess if Jay leaves, I'll have to watch reruns on cable stations, because I won't watch Fallon. I like Craig Ferguson, but he's a bit too far out there for the earlier time slot."

Patty Gamblin wrote, "I like Jay and hope he doesn't retire(again) Not a big fan of Jimmy Fallon. I really don't think he's all that funny either. But anyone is better then Dave Letterman!"
