Wednesday is a huge night for TV lovers because of the diversity of original programming. There’s something for the kiddies, a new original movie about Elizabeth Taylor, and new reality moments on “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” and “Duck Dynasty,” Yes, there’s literally something for everyone on Oct. 16.
“Toy Story of Terror!” on ABC
Buzz Lightyear, Woody and their all-star pals appear in a brand new edition of “Toy Story,” this time titled “Toy Story of Terror!” to tie in with Halloween. It’s Pixar’s first ever “Toy Story” Halloween special and it airs at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) on ABC. According to Neil Genzlinger from “The New York Times,” the special pays homage to “Psycho,” Friday the 13th,” and "Night of the Living Dead” when a “Toy Story” road trip goes very awry. “Burton & Taylor” on BBC America
According to Aubry D’Armino from “TV Guide,” BBC America’s new biopic “Burton & Taylor” is “classier and closer to the truth than last year’s campy Lindsay Lohan-led Lifetime pic 'Liz & Dick.'” Helena Bonham Carter plays Elizabeth Taylor, while Dominic West portrays Richard Burton in the new 2-hour made-for-TV movie. It’s set in the year 1983, more than two decades after Liz and Richard met on the Rome set of “Cleopatra.” They went on to make 10 more films together, bringing in more than $200 million for the studios. They were married for ten years, got divorced, and remarried before getting their final divorce in 1976. “Burton & Taylor” focuses on a time in Liz’s life that no other film has. “It’s a love story for the over 50s,” Bonham explained about her role. "Burton & Taylor” premieres at 9 p.m. EST (8 p.m. CST) on Wednesday, Oct. 16 on BBC America.
“Survivor: Blood vs. Water” on CBS
The 5th episode of “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” airs on Wednesday night and it will be packed with drama-fueled moments. Over on Redemption Island, the husband and wife team of John and Candace face-off against their arch rival, Brad Culpepper. According to Survivorfandom.com, tonight’s challenges include a bridge building race and an immunity challenge called “Slide Show.” So far, the vets of the Galang tribe have been slowly decimating the newbies from the Tadhana tribe. Will the tides turn tonight? Tune in to find out. A new episode of “Survivor: Blood vs. Water” airs at 8 p.m. EST (7 p.m. CST) on CBS.
“Duck Dynasty” on A&E
Turn on those parental controls, y’all, because Uncle Si has discovered how to upload YouTube videos on the newest installment of A&E’s monster runaway hit, “Duck Dynasty.” Willie’s son, John Luke, is also featured when he totals Dad’s car. The new episode of “Duck Dynasty” airs at 10 p.m. EST (9 p.m. CST) on Wednesday, Oct. 16 on A&E. “Duck Dynasty” mania is still raging across America. According to “USA Today,” fans are flocking to West Monroe, La., making it one of the country’s newest tourist destinations.
