Thursday is a huge night for TV lovers, but for very different reasons. On FOX, the cast of “Glee” honors Corey Monteith with a moving tribute. Glee’s executive producer told “USA Today” in an article that ran on Oct. 10, “It was incredibly difficult for all to work on because of people’s feelings toward Monteith.” The new episode is titled “The Quarterback." A totally different TV show will also make waves tonight. “Pawn Stars” returns to History for a new season. According to Fox News, the cast just signed on the dotted line to produce 80 more episodes.
On tonight’s new episode of “Glee,” Monteith’s character, Finn Hudson, dies and the cast grieves his death. Jayma Mays, Mike O'Malley, Harry Shum Jr., Amber Riley, Heather Morris and Mark Salling all return for the tribute special. Jane Lynch said that the filming was extremely difficult. “Everybody was crying, but it was good. We grieved together,” she told “USA Today.” “Everybody coming together for Finn and for Corey is the best way to heal." Corey Monteith passed away on July 13. Glee’s highly anticipated tribute to him airs at 9 p.m. EST (8 p.m. CST) on Oct. 10 on FOX.
On a lighter note, Thursday night’s TV schedule also includes the premiere of “Pawn Stars” on History. The Harrisons and sidekick Chumlee return to the show that chronicles the comings and goings at the Gold & Silver Pawn in Las Vegas. “Pawn Stars” debuted in 2009 and was History’s highest rated show. The series stars Richard “Old Man” Harrison, his son Rick, grandson Corey and Austin “Chumlee” Russell, Corey’s childhood friend. Ever since “Pawn Stars” premiered four years ago, sales at the pawn shop have skyrocketed and the store has undergone several expansion phases. Concerning the pros and cons of fame, Rick Harrison told “Fox News,” “I am just a normal guy and suddenly I am really, really famous. It’s definitely got its perks; I never have to wait in line at a restaurant,” he said. “On the flip side, I have small children. Our youngest ones are 10 and 12, and it’s sort of a pain to try and go out and play miniature golf.” The new season of “Pawn Stars” airs at 9 p.m. EST (8 p.m. CST) on Oct. 10 on History.
