Midseason TV premieres are in full swing this week. On Jan. 8, Kim Kardashian and Korean rapper Psy of “Gangnam Style” fame join Betty White to kick off the season two premiere of NBC's hit reality series called “Off Their Rockers.” Perennial favorite Betty White is thrilled to be back for a second season of senior pranks and made the media rounds on Jan. 7 and 8 to promote Tuesday night’s big premiere. On Jan. 7, she dropped by “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon” and joked about Kim Kardashian’s pregnancy. “She really screwed herself out of a career is what she did,” White panned on Monday.
Both Kim Kardashian from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” and Korean rapper Psy, who rose to fame and fortune with his incredibly quirky, yet catchy song “Gangnam Style,” are set to start the pranks tonight on “Off Their Rockers.” Kim Kardashian recently announced her first pregnancy. The father-to-be is Kanye West. Both Kim and Psy participate in pranks that Betty White said “made me laugh myself silly.” She added, “Psy will be showing me and our older pranksters how his ‘Gangnam Style’ dance is done. There’s no fool like an old fool!”
Betty White is best known for her TV roles as devious Sue Ann Nivens on “Mary Tyler Moore” and ditzy Rose Nylund on “The Golden Girls.” However, this national treasure was on TV for a long time before those two shows. Her own series called “Life with Elizabeth” aired in 1952. Betty made a huge revival with her popular Super Bowl commercial, “SNL” appearance and “Hot in Cleveland.” There’s no one quite like seven-time Emmy Award-winning Betty White, who first appeared on TV in 1945 and has made 104 TV and film appearances since. She turns 91 on Jan. 17 and says she isn’t done yet.
"It's been 65 years, and I think in that time I've been the luckiest person on two feet. I think I've done as much as I can do. I'd just like to keep on doing the same thing,” she recently said in a press interview.
Betty White does indeed continue on. Tonight, she returns for a second season of “Off Their Rockers” with cameos by Kardashian and Psy. Concerning the success of the show, Betty told “TV Guide,” “I don’t understand this, and I’m saying it very plainly, but people seem to love the show. I have no idea why. I guess because it’s silly fun and never mean-spirited.”
“Off Their Rockers” starring Betty White premieres at 8 p.m. EST on Tuesday, Jan. 8 on NBC.
