Varnish was created Jan 5, 2007 in their hometown of Seattle, Wa. This is a Rock/Post-Punk-Pop genre. Amber Bird is on vocals; bassist is Sanjeev Verma.; aNdi pUzL on drums; Jason Cope on guitar, for tonight's concert.
Varnish is self-described as “Songs about the hopes we cling to and the regrets that cling to us. Rooted in rain-soaked cities and dry mouths, Varnish want to stand by you when the lights go out and occasionally point out the stars." I imagine in concert, they will live up to their reputation as one of Seattle's finest local female vocalists.
Amber’s [Vocalist] voice, when I listened to the recording of the EP, reminded me of UK influence, and almost a Scottish influence akin to Shirley Manson of Garbage. But Amber has her own spin that is enticing to listen to, she has her roots in the Seattle vibe. The review of the concert tonight is coming soon to examiner.com by Jenn Findley.
