Tonight, Mary Sarah Joins the elite singers of the Houston Astro’s season opener

Don’t miss Mary Sarah singing her magic. With the talent of a true artist, Mary Sarah will be the muse to energize the Astros to beat the Marlins at 6:00 PM CST tonight. (

Television Schedule: Friday, April 8  vs Marlins  6:05 PM FS-H HD, DirecTV-678, Dish453 KTRH 740, KLAT 1010 (Sp.)

Mary Sarah has been a name with which I am very familiar.  From Richmond, Texas, Mary Sarah has always been near and dear to my heart, coming from the same regional area as I and being there whenever we talk.  She is a friend and a shooting star that will never fall.  When I first met Mary Sarah, it was through her father, Todd Gross. She was only 14 at the time.  What I heard in Mary Sarah’s songs confirmed that this was no ordinary fledgling singer and songwriter.  This charming, fresh face blonde, all-American/Texas bred artist is ultra-talented in so many ways:  Her favorite subject is math (talk about right brain, left brain expertise!) and the most important thing in her life is her family, friends, her faith and passion in her music and her sound can range from Taylor Swift, Miranda Lambert, Carrie Underwood to Patsy Cline. You couldn’t have ordered a more perfect mix in a star-bound artist so young.

The new season opens with the Astros taking on the Marlins at Minute Maid Park.  And the fresh new season will open with Country Music’s newest singing sensation, Mary Sarah. Originally from Rosenberg, this girl has Taylor Swift beaten by miles in her new CD called “Invisible.” Mary Sarah is anything but invisible to Country Music fans across the U.S.

Her 40-city tour last year was part of a rolling rock concert for kids. And through this and her latest CD, Mary Sarah has defined herself as a force to be reckoned with. Through her crisp, fresh and perfectly crafted songwriting and vocals, Mary Sarah is becoming the talk of the town, the U.S. and of course the Texas and Nashville music scene.

Her performance at Minute Maid Park will be an even higher step in Mary Sarah’s “visibility” with a packed house for the Astros first play of the season and her performance and the game being televised will propel our lil’ Texas darling even farther!

As Mary Sarah was quoted in the Houston Press, she is clearly excited about this performance. "I am totally excited for this opportunity and super thankful to perform!" said Sarah. “I am sure I'm going to have some butterflies stepping out there on Friday but I'm not alone with lots of my fans and family in the audience. My grandpa is even flying over from Florida to see me sing."

Mary Sarah joins an elite group of artists who opened the Minute Maid Park, Houston, seasons. The first game opened with the Star Spangled Banner  sung by  Houston native country legend Lyle Lovett, two-time Grammy award winning Cuba singer Jon Secada, astronaut Tracy Caldwell in 2006 and Jack Ingram, a Top 40 country artist who set the world record for the most radio interviews done in a single day (215).
