Variety is reporting today that singer Toni Braxton, of the hit reality show "Braxton Family Values," will play singer Darlene Love in OWN's upcoming original true-story biopic "My Name is Love: The Darlene Love Story."

"My Name Is Love: The Darlene Love Story" is based on Love's inspiring autobiography by the same name. The movie version will chronicle Darlene Love's career as a back up singer for some of the 1960's top pop groups. It will also detail Love's struggle to make a name for herself as a sensational singer.

The true story movie, directed by Morgan Neville of "Twenty Feet From Stardome," will air on OWN in December.

The pop singer and actress, now 72 years old, was recently given a standing ovation when she sung the gospel tune "His Eye Is On The Sparrow" at the Academy Awards in February 2014.

She is most known for her 1962 hit song "He's A Rebel."
