Rap legend Tone Loc collapses on stage while performing in Iowa, and Yahoo News reported on March 17 that there is no word on his current medical condition.
The "Funky Cold Medina" singer was finishing up a concert in Des Moines when he finished a song and then collapsed to the stage. Numerous people rushed the stage and tried to help Tone Loc before finally asking the fans to leave the arena. Yahoo News stared that no hospitals listed him as a patient and phone calls were not answered.
Anthony T. Smith, 47, rose to fame in 1989 and enjoyed two breakout singles in "Funky Cold Medina" and "Wild Thing," before fading out and becoming a novelty act. It was a wonderful rise to fame for the former gang member who turned his life around thanks to his love of music. He has also worked in movies and provided voice over for animated films.
This was not the first time that Tone Loc collapsed in a concert. He also was rushed to a hospital in 2009 when he collapsed during a performance and suffered a seizure. Tone Loc collapsed again in a 2011 concert out of exhaustion and overheating, where he was taken to a hospital and given an IV to rehydrate.
