Sparked by Heather Mycoskie’s passion and love for animals (wife of TOMS founder Blake Mycoskie), the TOMS Animal Initiative is a series of partnerships planned to conserve and protect animals. The program will raise funds for different animals each year, all selected by Heather, TOMS’ Chief Animal Lover.

As part of its new Animals Initiative, TOMS is proud to announce its first partnership with Virunga National Park to support its efforts to save the mountain gorillas who are threatened by poachers and habitat destruction. The TOMS Animal Initiative is an overarching platform to drive awareness and monetary funding for global animal conservation.

Virunga National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, is located along the eastern border of the Democratic Republic of Congo and is Africa’s oldest park. Home to a quarter of the world’s remaining 800 critically endangered mountain gorillas, Virunga also contains over 50% of all biodiversity in sub-Saharan Africa.

For the partnership, TOMS will release its Earthwise Classic silhouette complete with the Virunga National Park logo for Men, Women and Children. The style features a recyclable outsole and allows wearers to send used pairs to a reclamation center to be recycled into other products. As always, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need for every pair sold. In addition, TOMS will donate a portion of each sale to the Virunga National Park.

The TOMS + Virunga National Park collection is available now at and retails for $36 - $42 for Kids and $59 for Men and Women.

Be sure to support TOMS new initiative; you'll feel good while looking good!
