What a great day for family fun in Cincinnati! Macy’s Arts Sampler showcases the action adventure side of the arts on March 2nd. Let your family enjoy a cultural vacation in your own backyard!

From our friends at ArtsWave :

March 2 includes an incredible line-up of music, theatre, dance, and more. You could spend the whole day in and around Washington Park enjoying “Action! Adventure! Art!” with a variety of activities designed to showcase the thrilling side of the arts.

First, join us for a Choral Sampler hosted by Cincinnati Boychoir to hear Southern Gateway Chorus, Cincinnati Men's Chorus, Young Professional's Choral Collective, and the Cincinnati Boychoir at Memorial Hall starting at 10:00 am.

Grab lunch from one of the food trucks at Washington Park or at one of Downtown Cincinnati's great restaurants.

At 1 pm, head over to Music Hall for a joint concert with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Ballet, Cincinnati Opera, May Festival and Cincinnati Shakespeare Company. The rare joint concert has a “Heroes & Villains” theme, with an adventurous line-up certain to thrill adults and kids including selections from Romeo & Juliet, Aida, Don Giovanni, Swan Lake and more in a fast 40 minutes.

After the concert, continue your art adventures at the School for Creative and Performing Arts where you can learn to make stage blood from chocolate syrup, see a rapier and dagger stage combat demonstration by students at CCM, make your own superhero cape with Hero Design Company from ArtWorks, learn circus tricks with My Nose Turns Red, and enjoy performances by the CCM Preparatory Dept. Ensemble Theatre Cincinnati will offer theatre tours and a fun “Science of Theatre” demonstration. Plus, take a hip hop dance class at Elementz and complete the Arts Action dance challenge by finding the four costumed dance heroes from Pones, Inc. -- the Astronaut, the Cowgirl, the Pirate, and the Superhero -- and learning their super moves!

Looking for events closer to home? Macy's Arts Sampler is pleased to present these great neighborhood events on March 2.
