Tommy Roxx & Big Deal! release debut album (Photos)

CLEARWATER - It’s been a long time in the making, but last month one local musician’s longtime goal was finally achieved when Tommy Roxx & Big Deal! released their debut album, Freedom Isn’t Free.

Freedom Isn’t Free was recorded at Studio 420 in Tarpon Springs and Mastered by Tom Bares at The Rocket Factory in Cleveland Ohio. The 9-track CD includes such original songs as: “Unleash the Freak”, “Little Girl o' Mine”, “Or What ?!?”, “Freedom Isn't Free”, “Two Girls Kissin'”, “I Wanna do Everything”, “I Cried Myself to Sleep”, “You Were the One”, and “Who in the Hell?”.

For Tommy, this album truly was a longtime in the making... Some of the songs featured on the album first came into fruition earlier on in Tommy’s career, as far back as the 1980's to be precise. To say that Tommy is excited to finally be able to get his songs recorded and released on an album would be an understatement.

On January 20th Tommy Roxx & Big Deal! Held their CD Release Party at Gasoline Alley in Clearwater. After having several local bands open the show for them, Tommy Roxx & Big Deal! hit the stage and performed their entire CD live. The band also debuted their two music videos for “Two Girls Kissin’” and “Freedom Isn’t Free” as well. The night ended with several local musicians "jamming" together on stage. After the show, Tommy made sure to stay on hand to sign copies of the CD for his fans. The event came just weeks after Tommy Roxx & Big Deal! won the award for "Best Southern Rock Band" at the 5th Annual TBMN Music Awards Show.

About Tommy Roxx:

Tommy Roxx has been touted by some as being a cross between Ronnie VanZant, Bob Seger & Kid Rock . Tommy has the classic Southern Rocker look, and has a stage presence that mixes together the best qualities of all three artists, while still showcasing his own individual personality.

Tommy was born & raised in Northern Virginia and is a devoted Christian who describes himself as not being religious, but who simply just loves the Lord.

When it comes to performing and entertaining a crowd, Tommy has definitely been around the block a few times or so. Before forming Big Deal! several years ago, Tommy had been in several other bands over the years such as Douthhat, Rolling Thunder, Void Where Prohibited, The High Tides Band, and Flashback.

Tommy has also appeared as a guest singer with such bands as Jazzbo McMann, The Roadducks, Genuine Virginia Band, Johnny Artis band, Stormin Norman Fiasco, Raiford Starke, Group Therapy, Diva Martini, Jesse Bannon Project, The Bounty Hunter Band, Rebel Pride, Diamond Gray, Eve-N-Energy, Southern Rocks Finest, Cosmic VooDoo, Sobriety-X, & The Apologetix.
