Tommy Rewis has resigned as Hickman County head football coach and has been hired as the offensive coordinator/running backs coach at Kentucky Christian.
Kentucky Christian is a college located in Grayson, Kentucky and the Knights play on the NAIA level.
"It was a great opportunity for me so I'm trying my hand at college coaching," Rewis said. "I had a good run at Hickman County and the program is in good shape."
Rewis had a successful three year run at Hickman County as he posted a 21-16 record and led the Bulldogs to three Class 3A playoff appearances.
"We have started process of finding his replacement as Coach Rewis did a good job for us," Hickman County Athletic Director Mike Smithson said.
In fact, The Bulldogs have named offensive coordinator Kelly Myers as the Interim Head Coach.
Overall Rewis has a 87-109 career record with stops at Robert Toombs Academy (GA) (1994-95), Tift Area Academy (GA) (1996-99), Fairview (2000-03) and Heritage (2004-08).
Rewis had success at both Georgia stops as he took Robert Toombs to the playoffs both years and Tift Area to three consecutive playoffs.
When he came to the Volunteer state in 2000, he suffered through a 1-9 year at Fairview but quickly turned the Yellow Jackets fortunes around as they made three straight playoff appearances.
In 2002, the Yellow Jackets won their first playoff game since 1979 beating Huntington 16-15.
Since making the playoffs in 2001, Fairview has made the playoffs 12 of the last 12 years.
