The Tommy Lee Jones grumpy look has been the talk of many, including those who witnessed his Golden Globes 2013 displeased expression Sunday night on NBC. The actor's on-television "grump face" has even become part of a comical meme which has gone viral online as a result of the awards show.
A report on Jan. 14 from Inquisitr.com says that Jones was one of the few audience members who appeared to be unamused by an on-stage routine by actors Will Ferrell and Kristen Wiig. The former "SNL" alums decided to do a funny routine of presenting the nominees for Best Actress in a drama role by talking about the actresses based on the movies they starred in. Jones wasn't laughing though while most others were.
The grumpy actor has now found his way into a meme where he's been compared to Grumpy Cat. The Today Show posted the meme on their Twitter account showing the two icons side-by-side for comparison's sake. While some believe Jones was upset by Ferrell and Wiig's bit in particular, there's been other photo evidence showing the actor looking grumpy during other parts of the awards show, such as Ben Affleck's acceptance speech for "Argo."
Tommy Lee Jones was among those at the annual awards show due to his roles in two films which had nominations: "Lincoln" and "Hope Springs." Last night's Golden Globes 2013 awards show was presented on NBC via local affiliate station WSLS 10 in Roanoke.
