Tommy Hilfiger sent his spring 2012 menswear collection down the New York Fashion Week runway yesterday and gave men something to cheer about. A move away from the standard men’s golf shirt and khaki’s, Tommy Hilfiger used colors and silhouettes which were masculine and fashionable. In addition to fresh looks for spring 2012, Tommy Hilfiger also showed an unique take on men’s handbags including the newest trend for men; the clutch.
The color palette for the Tommy Hilfiger menswear collection included shades of plum, mustard, red, green and shades of sea blue. Models walked the catwalk in striped sweaters over golf shirts paired with slim Bermuda shorts as well as casual suiting in neutral colors and paired with bold seasonal hues. The overall silhouettes were slim and slightly inspired by the 1980’s country club look fused together with modern, bold colors and the occasional fatigue print jacket. The result was a fresh collection which is sure to be highly sought after by men everywhere.
The men’s handbag collection designed by Tommy Hilfiger for spring 2012 included the clutch which offered a men’s brief silhouette in a smaller, easier to carry size. The clutch was done in a light burgundy and also cobalt blue; both colors blended well with the overall color palette of the collection.
In addition to the men’s clutch, Tommy Hilfiger created a large, weekend tote which featured color blocking and two top handles; perfect for a weekend getaway or for use as a carry-on.
