Crystal Dynamics’ Karl Stewart, Global Brand Director of “Tomb Raider,” announced yesterday that the new “Tomb Raider” reboot has more than 1 million players in less than two days. Stewart posted the news to his Twitter account where he stated the following.

The latest “Tomb Raider” title released earlier this week and was sure to be a hit because the franchise is a fan favorite, but over 1 million sales since Tuesday may have exceeded the games expected sale performance. In the new game, players take on the role of a younger Lara Croft who learn to use many of her trademark skills for the first time as she is thrust into an adventure that doubles as somewhat of the character’s origin story.
“Tomb Raider” is out now on the Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and PC.
