Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers release new album free with ticket purchase

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers will release “Hypnotic Eye,” their first album in four years on July 29. A promotional tour will follow. And according to Rolling Stone on May 20, the album and the tour will come together in that every ticket purchased will include a copy of “Hypnotic Eye.”

If that weren’t enough, Tom Petty is releasing the album on high resolution Blu-ray audio and vinyl formats. The vinyl will come as either a single LP or a double album. And that’s still not all. If you preorder the download of the album, you will begin receiving pre-release tracks. “I knew I wanted to do a rock & roll record,” Petty told Rolling Stone in April. “We hadn’t made a straight hard-rockin’ record, from beginning to end, in a long time.”

Are you a member of the Tom Petty Fan Club? If you are, you will receive a copy of "Live 2013," a digital live album, when you purchase "Hypnotic Eye." That’s a lot of freebies for purchasing a tour ticket and joining a fan club!

Steve Winwood will be joining Petty for the tour. The tour will feature an appearance at the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival and a stop at Virginia’s Lockn’ Festival. Tickets for most dates will be available on May 31.
