When you send your nominations include the athlete, name of the school, stats for the week of the nomination.
2014 spring season- Week 5- May 18th-May 24th
Tom Paola- MDI- baseball- Pitched a no hitter and struck out five in 2-0 victory over Hermon. He walked only two. He had a double in 3-2 loss to George Stevens.
Paola is the first student/athlete from MDI to be named athlete of the week. MDI has a record of 7-5 with four games remaining in the regular season.
Carter DeRedin- Bucksport- baseball- Pitched a four hitter with 15 strikeouts in 3-0 victory over Orono. Had three hits and two RBI in 5-0 victory over Searsport.
Gage Feeney- Washington Academy- baseball- Had two hits, including a double, two runs scored, and two RBI in 14-2 win over Lee. Went 3-3 with two doubles, single, three runs scored, and three RBI plus pitched five scoreless innings, allowing only two hits, one walk, and struck out eight in 10-0 win over Calais. Had one hit and one run scored in 6-3 victory over Ellsworth.
Michael Turner- Hermon- baseball- Allowed one earned run on five hits and had the go ahead hit in 5-2 win over Foxcroft. Went 2-4 with two singles in doubleheader split with Caribou.
Jacob Sinclair- Dexter- baseball- Had two hits (double, triple), two RBI, two runs scored, and was the winning pitcher in 5-3 victory over PCHS. Had the Tigers only hit in 3-0 loss to George Stevens.
Wes Herrick- George Stevens- baseball- Pitched a one-hitter and struck out seven in 3-0 victory over Dexter.
