One of the most popular cartoon duos, Tom & Jerry are back to bring their own brand of chaos to Cartoon Network with an all-new series and they are bringing the whole gang with them for the aptly titled The Tom & Jerry Show.
In a world of remakes and reboots it is great to see that in this new series that while the animation is fresh and new, the iconic look, core characters and sensibilities of the original theatrical shorts are being preserved to bring the fun to not only the old school fans but also a whole new generation. Each episode will feature two 11-minute episodes which as always will pit Tom the cat and Jerry the mouse and their ongoing duel of wits. On the surface the series may not look all that different, but this time around they are not only playing their game of cat and mouse on their own turf in the suburbs, but also journeying to more fantastical settings including a witch’s cabin and a mad scientist’s lab to name a few.
The series kicks off with "Spike Gets Skooled" where Tom gets Spike sent to obedience school, and Jerry is left without a protector. When Spike returns, Tom tries hard to get Spike to revert to his old ways. Jerry fights back to make sure that Spike keeps his cool. Then in the next installment titled "Cats Ruffled Furniture", Tom is under strict orders to not wake the Witch sisters, but Jerry is set on getting Tom in trouble. When Tom uses the magic spell wand and makes all of the furniture come alive, he must get the help of Newt to make everything go back as it was.
Don’t miss the return of legends when The Tom & Jerry Show premieres on April 9th on Cartoon Network.
