According to BuzzFeed on Sept. 6, Tom Hiddleston will be replacing Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming Guillermo Del Toro film "Crimson Peak". There is no ill will between the two because of this, in fact Hiddleston acknowledges their friendship. Also, he was the one that broke the news to Cumberbatch and it appeared the "Star Trek Into Darkness" villain was happy for him.
“The thing is we’re really good friends, and as soon as Guillermo called, I called Benedict and I said this is happening, and he was like, ‘Amazing!’”
Apparently, the script was sent to him a couple of weeks ago and he acknowledges the fact that he'll be working with some great actresses like Jessica Chastain whom he knows very well. In fact Hiddleston mentioned that he admires Del Toro's work as well as the other cast he'll be working with and expressed his excitement. Hiddleston will begin start participating in the filming of this project in Toronto in February.
Hiddleston is also promoting yet another gothic romance called "Only Lovers Left Alive" which co-stars Tilda Swinton, Anton Yelchin, and Mia Wasikowska.
"Crimson Peak" is scheduled to be released in 2015.
