Daniel Craig is already in line to reprise his role as James Bond in Sam Mendes' yet untitled "James Bond 24" and the one after, but he may not continue past that. The Indian Express revealed on Monday, Sept. 16, 2013, that Tom Hardy is now rumored to be the next in line as the famous British spy.
While this is nothing but rumor at this point, some signs are pointing to Hardy stepping in once Craig finishes out his commitment to the franchise.
"Although Daniel Craig is signed up for the next two Bond films the search for his replacement is already on. Tom is right at the top of the wish list. He's been approached to gauge his interest and he's keen," a source said.
Tom Hardy has expressed interest in playing the role of James Bond before, and he even said he'd love to have "Chris Nolan as director or something, it'd be awesome." Hardy has worked with Nolan on numerous projects in the past.
With the actor already having interest in the "James Bond" franchise; it is also said that Hardy is looked at as "perfect Bond material.
"He is a respected actor with a great catalog of films but most importantly he's the type of guy that all men want to be like and all women want to be with. He's perfect Bond material," the source added.
The Bond franchise is said to be more popular than ever and they want to make sure the role is taken over by actor that is popular with fans, and Tom Hardy certainly is.
