For a wedding that included a prominent talent manager, it shouldn’t come as much of a surprise to see that the guests provided ample entertainment at the party. One such entertainer was none other than Tom Hanks himself, whose wicked reception dance moves went viral this week.
Hanks and several other bigwigs were in Whistler, Canada over the weekend to celebrate the nuptials of talent manager Scooter Braun and F*** Cancer founder and CEO Yael Cohen when the actor, bedecked with a prayer shawl and yarmulke (it was a Jewish wedding), busted a move to Montell Jordan’s “This Is How We Do It.”
A delightful moment, to be sure, it’s all thanks to...the Biebs. Yep, Justin Bieber is a client of Braun’s and captured the dance in a short video, which he posted to Instagram Monday with the caption “Haha Tom Hanks singing "This Is How we do it" dressed like a Rabbi lol #thatdancetho.” If you’re a fan of the two-time Oscar winner and his prowess on the dance floor, surely you can put aside whatever distaste you might have for the young lad who got it on tape just for you.
Bieber lent some music to the festivities as well by serenading the newly-married couple with the Beatles classic “All You Need Is Love” at the end of the ceremony.
He wasn’t the only one of Braun’s high-profile clients in attendance; Carly Rae Jepsen, the purveyor of that 2012 earworm “Call Me Maybe,” was also there and even sang her hit song with Bieber at the reception. You can see a small clip of it here courtesy of Braun’s buddy Thomas McCleod, who also snapped a great photo of the moment where Hanks “randomly gets his rabbi on.” Ed Sheeran and Asher Roth, meanwhile, brought another 90s classic to the party with their rendition of Blackstreet’s “No Diggity.” Sheeran also sang during the reception for the couple’s first dance as newlyweds.
Braun and Cohen tied the knot after a six-month engagement and over a year of dating. “One Tree Hill” star Sophia Bush and Hanks’ wife Rita Wilson were also present for the big event.
