For quite some time, Bistro Aix has been one of our favorite restaurants in Jacksonville. Bistro Aix consistently produces fresh and unique dishes and often uses local ingredients from the Jacksonville area. If you're looking for a downtown Jacksonville fine dining experience, then Bistro Aix should not disappoint.
On Thursday, February 7 Bistro Aix will host a winemaker dinner featuring the wines of Tom Eddy. Tickets to the event cost $125 per person (including taxes and gratuity) and it begins with a reception at 6:30pm with dinner at 7pm. The dinner will be held in the private dining rooms of Bistro Aix and will pair Tom Eddy's wines with Chef Zeke's tailor-made food selections. Tom Eddy attended the University of California-Davis and received his enology degree in 1974. According to Bistro Aix, this particular class of '74 is "often credited for the meteoric rise in the quality of wine in California int he last 30 years." After graduating, Tom worked for wineries both large and small in California before before he started his own family wine company in 1989. He has published books and is recognized as an expert on wineries. His perspectives on wine making have impacted wineries in Napa and Sonoma, as well as in other states.
The dinner will feature the TENZ Sauvignon Blanc, this is a fresh wine that includes tastes of natural gooseberry and is intended "for a light and healthy lifestyle." Elodian Pinot Noir will also make an appearance. Elodian comes from the Yamhill-Carlton District in Oregon's Willamette Valley will be served with Tom Eddy "Manchester Ridge Pinot Noir. Lastly, Tom will present the Tom Eddy Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon, a specialty of the winery. This wine is very special in that it is limited to only 1500 cases annually.
