Tom DeLay and Kathy Ireland on 'Dancing with the Stars' finals; Whitney Houston, Donny Osmond sings

Tom Delay and his partner Cheryl Burke joined Kathy Ireland and Tony Dovolani for tonight's "Dancing with the Stars" finals. Occasional gospel diva Whitney Houston kicked off the show wearing a short, sparkly, one-shouldered black dress and singing "Million Dollar Bill" (see video below) and later came out for performance of "I Wanna Dance with Somebody."

A brief history of season nine was shown through clips of past successes and failures, including Tom DeLay's "Wild Thing" and Kathy Ireland's salsa, as well as DeLay in red pinstripes announcing he would not be able to continue and was leaving "Dancing with the Stars."

Kathy Ireland Joins Debi Mazar and Macy Gray

Kathy Ireland graced the floor in a low-backed sequined black dress with deep red accents slit up to the thigh. Ireland joined Debi Mazar and Macy Gray for a graceful group dance.

Tom DeLay Dances the Texas Two Step

DeLay was decked out in his black and white Western wear including a cowboy hat for the Texas two step which he had to forgo in the early competition because of his two fractured feet. As Tom Bergeron put it, ""He was denied the dance closest to his heart."

Tom DeLay mentioned that while others had been injured during season nine he was the only one to have to withdraw because of injury, adding, "I am really excited to be back to dance the Texas Two Step." Dancing the two-step to the strains of "I Can't See Texas from Here," DeLay shook his booty one last time. He said it felt good to finally get to perform the dance named for his home state. "I messed up a little but it's OK."

It was nice to see the entire cast together again, and to see Tom DeLay and Kathy Ireland back on the dance floor a final time.

Winner of "Dancing with the Stars" Season Nine - Donny Osmond

The evening's cutest moment was Donny Osmond singing "Puppy Love" while Louie Vito and Chelsea Hightower danced. Congratulations to Donnie Osmond who won the judges' vote tonight with a perfect 30 and went on to take the season nine competition of "Dancing with the Stars." Sometimes nice guys finish first!
