Tom Cruise’s Scientology secrets may be safe after all. Tom’s lawsuit against Bauer Publishing which threatened to expose details about his private life, including his Scientology beliefs, has been ordered into private mediation, according to news reports from Celebuzz on March 7, and reports from UPI, Enstarz, and Christian Post on March 6.

Tom Cruise filed a $50 million defamation lawsuit against Bauer Publishing because two of its tabloids, Life & Style and In Touch, claimed he abandoned his 6-year-old daughter Suri after his divorce from Katie Holmes. Tom, of course, denies that this is true.

Those who were anticipating hearing juicy details about Tom Cruise’s private life during the trial may be in for a big disappointment if the lawsuit is settled out of court. Those who were looking forward to seeing Tom being given the third degree about his Scientology beliefs may be equally disappointed. But Tom’s Scientology secrets are safe for now.

Bauer Requesting Personal Info on Tom and His Scientology Beliefs

According to court documents recently filed as part of pre-trial process, Bauer Publishing is requesting a multitude of details about Tom Cruise’s private life which have a bearing on his relationship with Suri. The information requested includes details about Tom’s work, travel, and social schedules, how much contact Tom has or has not had with Suri since his divorce from Katie Holmes, Tom’s visitation schedule with Suri, Suri’s emotional state after the divorce, Tom’s role with the Church of Scientology and how that affects his relationship with Suri. Without Private Mediation. Tom’s Scientology Secrets Could be Exposed

It behooves Tom to reach some sort of settlement with Bauer Publishing during private mediation if he does not want to have to publicly answer questions about his Scientology beliefs under oath.

But just in case Tom Cruise and Bauer Publishing cannot resolve their issues in private mediation, a trial date has been set for April 29, 2014.

It has been predicted that the notoriously private Tom, will want keep the proceedings away from a public courtroom, and out of the spotlight for his reputation, for Scientology’s sake, for the sake of his daughter, and for box office sales.

Scientology’s Role in Tom Cruise’s Relationship with Suri

There are many who suspect Tom Cruise’s Scientology beliefs may have affected his visitation and communication with Suri. Prior to the Thanksgiving holiday Tom Cruise had not seen Suri in almost three months, though Tom’s attorney says Tom and Suri speak daily on the phone and via video chat online.

According to people who profess to be knowledgeable about the Scientology sect, Katie Holmes has been branded as a “suppressive person” because she parted company the sect. Because of this, Tom Cruise is reportedly prohibited from having any contact with his ex-wife.

It was unclear as to whether the “suppressive person” designation applied to little Suri Cruise, as well. Since Suri was recently flown to London to visit her father for a few days, and spent Thanksgiving and part of her Christmas holidays with him as well, apparently it does not.
