Tom Cruise may be the new film ambassador for Ireland

Tom Cruise is promising to be a strong presence in the entertainment world again in 2014. Cruise is so well liked worldwide he is being recruited to be the film ambassador for Ireland, reports on Jan. 3, 2014. Ireland has the right idea, because this actor is clearly more popular than the now image shattered President Barack Obama, who is fighting for respect for his name amidst continued economic turmoil and highly controversial foreign policy moves dealing with drones and other matters.

In fact, it appears Cruise is so far ahead of even Obama in public opinion polls, if he wanted to he could probably be successful as a presidential candidate himself, as was past President Ronald Reagan, who started out in Hollywood. In fact the United States would be lucky to also have Cruise as a film ambassador out of Hollywood.

The Irish have been quick to pick this up and want Cruise as their film ambassador. Ireland's Arts Minister Jimmy Deenihan has said that Cruise's representatives have said that he was interested in becoming a film ambassador with the Irish Film Board. Cruise was seen in Ireland last April at which time he received a Certificate of Irish Heritage.

Beyond a doubt, Cruise is one of the famous celebrities in the world, reports Entertainment and Stars. The Irish will be lucky to have him on board as their film ambassador. The government of Ireland is absolutely right in feeling Cruise will be able to successfully promote the country's film industry abroad. The idea is for Cruise to encourage fellow filmmakers to use Ireland as a shooting location aimed at promoting the country's tourism and film industry. It looks like London is in for some serious competition in the entertainment world now.
