Tom Cruise has to be excited for his latest accomplishment. He was named on Wednesday as an honorary South Korean citizen. The entertainer is currently on tour promoting his latest film and had a special recognition given out. One of the few stars who have ever received short term citizenship from any country, it appears the South Korean fans were delighted to have the star recognized.
“Tom Cruise honored by Hur Nam-sik, the mayor of #Busan, #Korea with honorary citizenship,” tweeted Tom Cruise from his official Twitter account. The entertainer included a link to a video on his blog that shared the special moment with the fans.
The actor isn't the only one getting honorary citizenship. The Mayor of Busan was so impressed that the other cast members of the film Jack Reacher along with the director will be getting the same diplomatic honor as well. While the citizenship might be more for show than a place to call home, it definitely is impressive to see all the places around the world that love Tom Cruise films.
