It seems Tom Cruise is about to get extremely busy. According to a story published on Oct. 24 by E! Online, the A-list superstar has agreed to take the starring role in a new racing drama. He will be teaming up again with “Oblivion” director Joseph Kosinski.
The movie will be titled “Go Like Hell”, and it is based the book by A.J. Baime “Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari, and their Battle For Speed and Glory at Le Mans”. In it, Cruise will star as a former racing champion turned brilliant engineer. His character, Carroll Shelby, was a former racing champion who single handedly helped turn the Ford Motor Co. into a major player in high performance automobiles.
The Le Mans refer to the grueling 24 hour endurance race in attempting to complete the 24 hour race that is held in the French city of Le Mans. This race is one of the longest in the world, and it is more than 18 times the length of the Formula One Grand Prix.
It seems Tom Cruise is lining up a series of high budget action movies. Before starting filming on “Go Like Hell” he is schedules to film the next installment of the “Mission: Impossible” franchise. However, his most recent upcoming movie will be an aliens battling humans science fiction film. He will be co-starring with Emily Blunt in the new Doug Liman movie “Edge of Tomorrow”
