'Toki Tori' Developer would love to create a 'Star Fox' game for Wii U

Back in 2001, Two Tribes, a game development company based in Amersfoort, Netherlands, released "Toki Tori" for Nintendo's Game Boy Color handheld. Between 2009 and 2012, "Toki Tori" was re-released for the Wii, PC, Mac and PS3. Recently, the company has been close at work on "Toki Tori 2" for Steam and Wii U. On March 12, Two Tribes was recently interviewed to discuss the new game as well as a few other subjects.

Colin Ginkel of Two Tribes mentioned that if he could create a new game for a franchise of his choice, he stated that he would love to create a new game for the 'Star Fox' series. "I think we could make a damn fine 'Star Fox' game for Wii U" said Ginkel. "Yes, a classic 'Star Fox' game would be awesome to work on." Since there hasn't been a new 'Star Fox' game in quite some time, it would be great to see the series make a big comeback from the help of such a talented development team.

As of right now, Two Tribes has made the choice to only release "Toki Tori 2" on Steam and the Wii U eShop. There isn't any info on a possible PlayStation or Xbox version of the game, but it's always a possibility. "Toki Tori 2" is confirmed by Ginkel to be the best game they've ever worked on and he's extremely proud of the outcome. The game was due for release as a Steam and iOS title back in Spring of 2012, but Two Tribes decided to delay the game and finish more development. Afterwards, the decision was made to only release the game on Steam and Wii U this month.

Other than "Toki Tori 2," it's unknown if Nintendo wants Two Tribes to develop more games in the future. If the game is a success, it would be reasonable for Nintendo to do so. Other than discussion about a future 'Star Fox' game and "Toki Tori 2," Ginkel also expressed that playing "Super Mario 64" for the Nintendo 64 "felt magical" after playing it for the first time. It's clear that this development team support Nintendo 100% and it's likely that we can expect more titles in the Wii U eShop in the future.
