'Toki Tori 2' finally coming to Wii U on April 4

Back in December, Two Tribes, a game development company, was supposed to released the highly anticipated "Toki Tori 2" for the Wii U. The title was eventually delayed until sometime in the first half of 2013. On March 21, it was finally announced that "Toki Tori 2" will officially hit the Wii U eShop on April 4. Will the game be as great as gamers have made it out to be?

"Toki Tori 2" is the sequel to the 2001 game "Toki Tori" which was originally released for the Game Boy Color. The 2001 title received critical acclaim and gamers had no idea that a sequel was going to come 12 years later. If you've ever seen a screenshot of the "Toki Tori 2" gameplay, you'll notice that it's extremely similar to it's predecessor. Of course, the graphics have been heavily upgraded and a brand new 2.5D effect has been put into place.

Both PC and Mac owners will receive the title sometime this year, but it looks like Two Tribes wants to bring the title to Nintendo owners. It's possible that Two Tribes wanted to bring the game to the Wii U first due to their first game ever being released on a Nintendo system. Since Nintendo put the company on the map, they have to show their gratitude by releasing "Toki Tori 2" on the Wii U before any other system.

It's unknown when Steam users will be able to play this game, but it's expected to happen sometime before the summer hits. The game, as stated earlier, was supposed to be released in late 2012 for Steam and Wii U, but Two Tribes wanted to add a few extra special features that will make the game worth playing. Once the game hits the Wii U eShop, it's expected to be priced between $10 - $20 in the Americas.

It seems like "Toki Tori 2" will be one of the best games that Two Tribes has ever created. Earlier this month, Colin Ginkel, one of the developers at Two Tribes, stated that he would love to create a 'Star Fox' game for the Wii U in the future. Will Nintendo give them the opportunity to bring the franchise back to life? Only time will tell.
