Tojo Yammamoto Jr. has been hospitalized in very serious condition with high blood pressure, blood clots, pneumonia and diabetes related ailments. The mid-south wrestling star is said to be in very poor health and while it appears very critical doctors are said to be optimistic.
The mother of Yammamoto sent word on Friday to friends and family to pray for her son saying he is in dire health and needs all the support he can get.
Yammamoto Jr. has garnered the wrath of a number of Memphis veterans and current wrestlers over the use of the Yammamoto name. Yammamoto Jr. is not related to the legendary wrestler of the same name who was a staple in the Memphis and Mid-South Area. Tojo Yammamoto was one of the top workers and also trained a great number of wrestlers who came through or started in the area. Yammamoto retired in 1991 and took his own life in 1992 after battling with diabetes and struggling with leaving the business he loved so much.
There are those who take issue with Yammamoto Jr. for "high-jacking" the name and he is said to have legit heat with a number of Memphis mainstays.
