Calling all Toddlerz! The Twerkus is in town!!
Twerk du Soleil, a 13-city tour that features live performances of some of his most popular YouTube videos, will feature some of the songs and mashups which have made Hall one of the most popular entertainers on the internet. Named last year to Forbes' "30 Under 30" list of rising stars, Hall's videos blend Disney soundtracks and musical films with street flavor and stereotypes into funny parodies that you'll have a hard time forgetting. With videos like "Beauty and the Beat" (a riff of the Disney film, set in the ghetto), "The Wizard of Ahhhs" (current pop/radio tunes + "The Wizard of Oz" - featuring equally popular acapella group Pentatonix), and "Freaks Like Me" (a catchy anti-bullying tune that features the cast of the reality series "Dance Moms"), Hall makes a statement while keeping things fun. Celebrity guests for some of his videos have included "Glee" star Amber Riley, former N'Syncer Lance Bass, and former supermodel Janice Dickinson.
In addition to his own work, Hall has appeared on Broadway in "The Color Purple" with another former AI contestant, Fantasia - as well as a more recent production of the popular show "Cats". He also choreographed the video "Blow" from the surprise "artistic" album released by Beyoncé in December 2013.
Twerk du Soleil will be in Atlanta on Saturday evening, beginning at 7pm at The Loft at Center Stage. Ticket prices range from $25 (general admission) to $85 (meet-and-greet pizza party prior to the show). Tickets can be found by visiting www.todrickhall.com or Ticket Alternative.
