According to Saturday's WHAM ABC News, a toddler in Middlesex, N.Y., required stitches after she was bitten in the face by her babysitter's dog.
The incident took place at the home of Ann Morse, the babysitter and friend of the family of the little girl, two-year-"Kianna."
The toddler's grandfather, Daryl Hilkert, is determined to have the young dog destroyed. He is upset that the dog was not seized - he stated:
If this was a dangerous dog, a pit bull or anything like that, that dog would have been taken on the spot,
There are no details provided about what led up to the bite - nothing about whether or not the child was being supervised or exactly what she was doing right before the bite. Many dogs do not like to be hugged or approached at eye level...something which young children cannot help given their size.
Currently, the dog is in quarantine and animal control is investigating.
