  • In an early TV broadcast, experimental station W1XAV in Boston, broadcast a small video portion of the CBS "Fox Trappers" orchestral radio program.
  • In a sports first, CBS used an early version of instant replay during it 1963 broadcast of the Army-Navy game.
  • "Saturday Night Live" broadcast its 200th episode. Tom Hanks was the guest host. Chanteuse Sade was the featured music act.
  • "Highway to Heaven" aired its 100th episode. Future "Friends" star, Matthew Perry had an early role on this episode.
