The free iPhone apps for iPad, and iPod Touch hottest in today's downloads include “Secret”, a free new way to share what your thinking with friends as MacRumors (Feb. 7) reports that the iPhone app “SnapChat” can cause your iPhone to freeze and crash.

According to security researchers, a vulnerability in the SnapChat” app allows hackers to flood your account with thousands of messages in seconds, causing your iPhone to freeze and crash. This private messaging app is growing in popularity even as it faces concerns that user names and phone numbers of more than four million customers may have been revealed during a massive security breach.

With the free app iPhone app “Secret – Speak Freely”, you can share what you're thinking and feeling with your friends and the world, anonymously. You can even make your words stand out by including a photo or a colorful background. What's more, this app only sends your messages to your friends, not to a server so you can say exactly what you think and feel without worrying that way you're saying is being stored in the cloud.

As of this writing, the hottest free game app today is “Only One”, which uses the same kind of retro pixal graphics that “Flappy Bird” made popular. “Only One” is an simple arena sword fighting game for iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch, where a lone man with just a sword stands atop a pillar and challenges all comers. He can either kill them with his sword to steal their loot, or he can simply push them off the pillar for an easy kill. There are more than 70 levels of different enemies and over time you can upgrade your swordsman with special abilities.

“Line of Defense Tactics” is also really hot. Here you command a team of android marines in highly classified intergalactic missions. There's ship to ship combat, air strikes, vehicles and real time tactical combat in this story-based action game. Only the first three missions are free to play.

“Secret – Speak Freely” is rated 12+ for mature themes, profanity, crude humor, sexual content, references to drug, alcohol and tobacco use. This app requires iOS 7.0, is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch and is optimized for iPhone 5.

“Only One” supports Game Center and is rated 9+ for horror, profanity and violence. This free app is optimized for iPhone 5 and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.

“Line of Defense Tactics” Game Center and is rated 9+ for violence. This free app is optimized for iPhone 5 and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch.
